Stop 2
Traditional Oxcart Craftsmanship Watch how traditional hand-made oxcarts (called carretas), a national symbol of Costa Rica, are crafted using age-old techniques. See artisans shape wooden wheels — made from woods like cedar and laurel — and fit them with metal rims without modern fasteners. ️ Historic Production Methods Explore parts of the factory where traditional tools and even old water-powered machinery are still used to run saws and lathes, giving you a glimpse into how these carts were made for over a century. Cultural Experience It’s a great photo opportunity and cultural stop, especially if you’re interested in traditional crafts and Costa Rican heritage.
